New favorite Italian place near mom and dad's,
discovered with Patrick and Joss
http://www.luigia.ch/
When you park at PARKING DE MONT BLANC, you'll pop up near the lake and bridge (Mont Blanc bridge).
Be sure to get a photo of the Jet d'Eau (water fountain shooting up lake Geneva).
Between the lake and PLACE DU MOLARD (square) there is a road called RUE DU RHONE and on this
road is the RELAIS DE L'ENTRECOTE - the steak/fries place. It opens at noon and the first seating gets
filled up in minutes. We love the chocolate cake there served with whipped cream. It's european (so
not moist and thick and gooey) but delish anyway. The creme brulee is also excellent.
If you don't have time to sit down and eat (though this place is pretty fast if you are in first seating),
and you just want to grab a sandwich/salad food to go, at Place Molard there is a department store named
GLOBUS (next to Zara) by the tower clock. Their ground level has a series of stands for food on the go.
Don't forget for your chocolate shopping go to COOP at PLACE FUSTERIE which is another square
just a couple blocks from MOLARD along the road RUE CROIX D'OR.
I sure hope you get a chance to climb the steps of the ST PIERRE CATHEDRAL to get photos.

You will want to consider in Gruyeres:
Cheese Factory
Tour of the castle if open
They have a beautiful chapel
Walk on the outside wall of the fortress
There is also a gondola leading to an amazing view if the weather is clear, about a 15 min drive away.
Cailler Chocolate Factory in Broc
When in Gruyeres, you absolutely MUST eat racelette + you
must have double creme de Gruyeres (a dessert--the best double cream on
the planet...something you've never experienced before unless you have
had it from this town before) on top of meringues or on top of anything.
It is to die for!! It gets no fresher than in Gruyeres itself.
When you head to Chalet:
Chateau de Chillon. See http://www.chillon.ch/en/
Open from 10:00 to 17:00
Plan on 1.5 hours
Montreux lakefront
Nice area just to walk around a bit on the lake but more of a
summer spot than winter spot to be honest...so maybe just drive through
it
